Remembering Edward Whittington

We are extremely saddened by the loss of our founding attorney, Edward “Eddie” Whittington. He was certainly much more than a founding partner though. Eddie was a friend to all. There was no one that walked through our door that didn’t have a friend in Eddie. He was as generous as they come, a great listener, and would certainly provide you with the best advice you could find, whether that be legal or personal. Eddie also knew what he didn’t know, which may be one of the best qualities you can have, especially as an attorney. I speak for all of us at the firm, when I say we are already missing those calls for “technical assistance”. I can’t emulate it but I can certainly hear the special way he would make that “call”, which was actually a yell to anyone in the office that could hear him. Eddie was extremely wise and the best mentor I could have asked for. I wore the path from my office to his down to ask questions and bounce ideas off him daily and I can’t think of a time his answer didn’t end up being the correct one. I don’t think I could write a book comprising all the admirable qualities of Eddie, there are just so many. He was thoughtful, loving, gracious and caring, as is reflected by the outpouring of love, sorrow, grief, and thankfulness expressed by the community. Which we are so very appreciative of. Founder, friend, counselor, mentor, but most importantly Eddie was family.
